Dr Oommen
Your FAMILY MEDICINE DOCTOR

Dr. Oommen

Dr. Shibu Oommen was born and raised in Sugarland, Texas, where his passion for healthcare began at an early age. Watching his mother serve as a nurse for the Veterans Affairs health system had a lasting impact on him. Seeing the difference she made in the lives of veterans sparked his curiosity about medicine and inspired a deep respect for the role healthcare professionals play in their communities. Following that example, Dr. Oommen and his siblings all pursued careers in healthcare across various specialties.

Driven by a desire to care for people across all stages of life, Dr. Oommen chose family medicine as his specialty. He believes that true healthcare goes beyond treating illness—it involves understanding the whole person, including their physical health, lifestyle, and long-term wellness goals.

Dr. Oommen completed his Family Medicine residency at Nebraska Medicine, where he gained broad clinical experience caring for patients in diverse settings. After residency, he served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Creighton University School of Medicine. During this time, he cared for patients in the hospital, urgent care, and outpatient clinic while also helping train the next generation of physicians.

In 2021, Dr. Oommen returned to Texas to be closer to family and began practicing outpatient family medicine with in Georgetown,TX

While he valued the opportunity to serve his patients there, he increasingly felt that the traditional healthcare model limited the time and personal connection that patients deserve from their physician.

This led Dr. Oommen to transition to the Direct Primary Care (DPC) model. Through DPC, he is able to focus fully on building meaningful relationships with his patients, spending more time during visits, and addressing health from a comprehensive perspective. Without the constraints of insurance-driven medicine, Dr. Oommen can concentrate on what matters most—helping patients achieve better health in every aspect of their lives.

Dr. Oommen’s mission is simple: provide thoughtful, personalized medical care that prioritizes prevention, accessibility, and long-term wellness. He believes that when patients and physicians work together with time, trust, and transparency, better health outcomes naturally follow.
